HF Newsreaders Sought
Additional HF newsreaders are being sought to share the workload of Seán EI7CD and Ger EI4GXB, especially as the summer months are approaching. It is hoped that a panel of newsreaders can be established nationwide thus making the workload easier for all concerned, and allowing the HF news to be broadcast from different locations around the country.

Echo Ireland
The deadline for material for the June edition of Echo Ireland is Friday next and members are invited to submit news items and articles for inclusion.
As we are coming in to the busy season for club activities, we hope to get reports from Club PROs on happenings both past and planned.

Licence Examination
It is just over three weeks now to the closing date for applications to sit the next examination for an amateur station licence.
The next exam will be held on Thursday, 7 July, at 2.00 p.m. in the ComReg offices in Dublin. The closing date for receipt of applications to sit this exam is Wednesday 22 June. Geopark and CASHOTA weekend.
This weekend is both the Geopark and CASHOTA weekend. The Copper Coast Geopark in Waterford will be activated by SEARG and the Marble Arch Caves Geopark in Fermanagh will be activated by Lough Erne Amateur Radio Club.
South Eastern Amateur Radio Group and the Lough Erne Amateur Radio Club will ensure that Ireland again has its say in the 2011 International Geopark Communication weekend, with special event stations QRV from both of Ireland's Geoparks.

Cork Radio Club
The May meeting of Cork Radio Club will be held in the Community Centre in Carrigtwohill tomorrow Monday the 30th and will feature a presentation and live demonstration of D-Star by Don Kelly EI8DJ.
The meeting will also hear a report on the successful trip to Brow Head for International Marconi Day and will finalize arrangements for the CW Field Day next weekend. Visitors are very welcome and further information can be had from Jeremy EI5GM on 083-3317710.
South Dublin Radio Club
This Tuesday 31st of May South Dublin Radio Club will be dusting off the soldering irons and building kits that create a flashing badge.
The activity is open to all including those who never soldered before and visitors to the club. The kit includes a custom made printed circuit board, a flashing light emitting diode, a battery holder and a battery. Simply turn up and bring 2 euro.
In exchange you will be taught how to solder and get to bring home a flashing badge to impress the family.
The aim is to turn "black box operators" into "burnt finger operators" and hopefully more complex projects will be attempted into the future.
