The document is ComReg Document 11/28 and is available on the Publications section of the ComReg website at www.comreg.ie . The Society will be submitting a response to the document which must be with ComReg before 24 May. Anyone who wishes to have observations included in the Society's response should forward them as soon as possible to Sean EI7CD at ei7cd / at /gofree/dotindigo/dot/ie . While anyone may respond to ComReg public consultations it has been indicated to us by ComReg that a single response relating to the amateur service would be preferable.

Russia Sign Up to CEPT Licence

Russia has become the latest nation to sign up to the pan-European CEPT licensing agreement. According to the IARU Region 1 website, the Russian State Radio Frequencies Commission decided in March that the Russian Federation would join both the CEPT and ECC Recommendation. This will make it possible for every CEPT licence holder to operate on the territory of the Russian Federation. There are a few caveats. Among them is that Russia will only permit such CEPT operation by a foreign station for a limit of three months, without any additional permission needed. Also, the call sign to be used in CEPT operations will be RA followed by the foreign amateur's personal call letters.
