IRTS Radio News Bulletin Sunday April 14th 2002

Silent Key

It is with deep regret that we inform you of the death on Wednesday last of Jimmy Upton EI8Z. Jimmy was President of the Society from 1979 to 1982 and did great work for the Society over a long number of years both as President and subsequently in his involvement in organizing a number of the revived EI/GI conventions held at Ballymacscanlon. Jimmy was a founder member of the Fingal Radio Club and for many years taught CW to those members studying for licenses. He will be well remembered for the help he gave to so many new applicants for the experimenters' license.

Jimmy will be sadly missed by his many friends in amateur radio. To his wife Tess and to his family we extend our deepest sympathy.

Ar dheis De go raibh a Anam dilis.
