Cork Radio Club

This week the club had a discussion on problems with interference such as TVI. Suggestions on how to tackle this problem were examined. The Club is now QRV on PSK and up to 60 contacts have been made on this mode already. The AGM of the club will be held on Monday the 25th o March at 8 p.m. at Wilton Park House.

Rallies

Last Sundays Phoenix Rally held at the Coolmine Community SChool was an outstanding success and had one of the biggest crowds at any rally in recent times. All the usual traders were present and a feature of the day was the large amount of secondhand equipment and bits and pieces on display. The next rally on the calender will be the Limerick one in Jurys Hotel on April the 7th. Enquiries about this one should be directed to Paul Kirkby EI6FE at QTHR. The Terenure Rally 2002 will be held on the 26th of May at Terenure College. The doors open at 11.00am and further information can be had from George EI2CPB on 086-2586103.

EI6AX on Radio na Gaeltachta

Radio na Gaeltachta will broadcast an interview with Bernie EI6AX on Sunday next, March 3rd at 1310. The title of the programme is "Mo bhealach féin" and it should be of interest to radio amateurs and gaelgóiri.

EI Activity Day This year, St. Patricks Day falls on a Sunday which should give everybody a chance to get on the air for the annual EI activity day. We ask that a special effort be made to activate the rarer counties and hope clubs will once again make an effort to get out portable. There are many stations in various parts of the world now actively participating in the Worked All Ireland Awards Scheme and many are trying for the last few to get the counties award.
