Irish Hour

The last Sunday Irish Hour of 2001 on 21317 kHz at 1700 UTC on December the 30th had a record number of check ins. A sampling of calls to show the width and breath of the coverage follows: 4Z4UN, ZS6HRD, EA8/EI0CL, GI4RMA, EI8EM, 6Y5CN, W3KEN, WB9KOY, VE3EIK and W7DFO. W2MAT and Joe (W2ORA) served as net control. However, Joe was using the special event call K2A which may have attracted the more than usual number of check ins. This call has been issued to the South Jersey Radio Association (SJRA) for a few weeks. SJRA may be the oldest radio club in North America; their birthdate is 1916.
